IW #1: Virtual Vacations

• 4 high-resolution webcams are mounted facing out at 90 deg to each other located in very interesting parts of the world (i.e. top of the Empire State Building, underwater next to the Great Barrier Reef, Antartica with the penguins, on a Caribbean beach, etc)
  
• Project these 4 images onto 4 walls
• It's like being there, but it's much less expensive

Other variations:

• Place it on top of a car in an interesting city such as Paris
• Allow subscriptions to each feed for high-res
• Rotate through a few of them each hour
• Sell the hardware as a package, including 4 screens. People will set up a vacation room in the middle of their family room.
• FAce the cameras into the room you are in and join a virtual world
• Display the rooms in Second Life or any other virtual world

First post!
This is going to be a new approach to my blogs. It is also an exercise in trust and an experiment in enabling opportunities for myself. Throughout my life I've invented concepts that often became commercially-viable products and services - but by other people! My reaction has been typical in that I've become more secretive about what I'm working on. But, after attempting to launch company after company without the product-success I've aspired to, I've started to discount all of my ideas unless they are "big" or "exciting" or "easy to execute". Consequently, many ideas get tossed away - never to see the light of day. But, that doesn't mean someone else could not have benefited from that idea - either through producing it as described, or developing upon it.

Consider the "99% Perspiration" statement. Why should I hold close a good idea when I'm not willing to apply the additional 99% of effort to make it commercially viable? In fact, it's really 99.99% perspiration! This site is the 0.01% of effort that initiates that path towards success. This is my gift. Although paltry, it's probably more than what existed before I post it.

What do I want from you? Merely state that you initiated your project using my idea. If I post the idea here, I'm placing it in the public domain. It will be your job to develop the concept further if you want to get a patent on it. Under each concept is a Comment link. Please leave a post there if you want to discuss an idea. I'll reach out to you after you do so.

My day-job is business consulting for large and small companies. Therefore, I am also available to assist you with developing any of these concepts into a viable business. In some cases I'll probably just provide brainstorming to help you build momentum. If you need more than that, we'll have to discuss hourly rates and/or equity ownership. But, you as the entrepreneur will have to incur the costs of getting the concept off the ground.
